SIGNAL TIMESTAMP: DAY 13 — RELAY NODE ACTIVE

Operator,

A recovered archive fragment has been transmitted through the AKC Signal network.

The following entry is part of the Arkfall Field Archive — a record documenting the events that reshaped the world after the arrival of the Arks.

THE ARK EXPEDITION

══════════════════════════════

The coordinates transmitted through the Ark Network in Log 12 were verified across multiple systems.

Every analysis returned the same result.

The signal was real.

And it was intentional.

Once the data had been confirmed, the decision was made to investigate the location directly. A small Ark Hunter reconnaissance team was assembled, with Callie assigned as expedition lead due to her previous interactions with Ark Tech and the Arkfall familiar now known as Glimmerkit.

If the Ark Network had truly identified a surviving structure, it would represent the most intact piece of Ark technology discovered since the end of the Pale Wars.

The journey began at first light.

The region marked by the coordinates lay far beyond the heavily studied Arkfall zones — an isolated stretch of terrain that had remained largely untouched since the early days of the Arkfall impacts. Satellite scans showed little beyond rocky terrain and scattered crystal growths typical of older Arkfall events.

But something felt different the closer the expedition moved toward the location.

Ark Tech fragments began appearing more frequently along the approach path.

Small shards at first.

Then larger panels.

Sections of curved alloy plating partially buried beneath the ground.

Unlike most Arkfall debris, these fragments showed signs of directional impact — as though a much larger structure had broken apart while descending through the atmosphere.

Which meant one possibility was becoming increasingly likely.

The team was approaching the crash site of something enormous.

Glimmerkit sensed it before the scanners did.

Her Arkfall core brightened gradually as the expedition neared the final coordinates. The ember flame at the tip of her tail lengthened into a steady plume, venting faint sparks into the air as Arkfall radiation levels slowly increased.

But this was not the chaotic radiation normally associated with Arkfall impact zones.

This energy felt… stable.

Organized.

Then the landscape opened.

The team reached the edge of a vast impact basin carved into the earth. The crater stretched for kilometers in every direction, its surface scattered with enormous fragments of alien alloy partially fused into the surrounding rock.

At the center of the basin, something enormous rose from the ground.

A curved structure of metallic plating and fractured support beams, half-buried in the terrain but unmistakable in shape.

It was not debris.

It was a section of an Ark.

The fragment had survived atmospheric entry mostly intact, embedding itself into the planet rather than shattering like the majority of Arkfall debris. Time and geological pressure had buried much of the structure beneath the crater floor, but its upper hull still protruded above the surface like the skeleton of a fallen starship.

As the expedition approached the wreckage, the Ark Network signal intensified.

Panels across the hull flickered faintly with blue light.

Dormant systems attempted to initialize.

And Glimmerkit’s core began to glow brighter than it ever had outside of a Bloom event.

The moment her paws touched the ancient alloy surface, the Ark responded.

Energy surged across the structure in cascading waves of light. Fractured conduits embedded in the hull pulsed with renewed power, and long-dormant sensors began scanning the surrounding environment.

After decades of silence…

A piece of an Ark had just come back online.

Glimmerkit sat calmly on the glowing surface of the hull, her star-shaped core shining in quiet resonance with the ancient technology beneath her paws.

For the first time since the Pale Wars, a surviving Ark fragment had recognized a compatible energy signature.

And if the Ark Network had been searching for something all this time…

It had finally found it.
