The Ark Network signal recorded in Log 10 was initially believed to be nothing more than a localized response — dormant Ark Tech fragments briefly communicating before losing power.

For several days, nothing else occurred.

The devices remained inactive.

The crater returned to silence.

Then the signal came back.

The event began during a routine systems calibration inside the AKC research station monitoring the Arkfall region. Several instruments briefly registered a faint energy fluctuation — small enough that it would normally have been dismissed as background interference.

At the same moment, Glimmerkit reacted.

Her ears perked up.

The star-shaped core in her chest brightened slightly, shifting into a gentle Resonance State. The ember tail flickered with soft sparks as she turned toward the horizon and stared into the distance.

There was no Arkfall event.

No meteor entry.

No visible anomaly.

Yet the instruments continued registering a faint repeating pattern.

Then the transmission strengthened.

Energy pulses began appearing across multiple Ark Tech fragments scattered throughout the surrounding terrain — not only within the original crater, but across several separate Arkfall sites miles apart.

For the first time, the signal was not originating locally.

It was arriving.

The transmission moved through the network like a ripple across water, activating fragments of Ark Tech in sequence. Panels that had remained dormant for years flickered briefly with faint blue light before falling silent again.

Each device acted like a relay.

Receiving.

Forwarding.

Searching.

The signal pattern recorded during the transmission matched the handshake sequence Glimmerkit had triggered earlier — but now the sequence contained an additional response code embedded within the pulses.

Something had answered.

The signal continued repeating for nearly twenty seconds before fading completely.

Throughout the entire event, Glimmerkit remained unusually still. Her core glowed brighter than normal but never reached Bloom State. Instead, the light pulsed gently in time with the incoming transmission, as though her Arkfall core recognized the pattern being broadcast across the network.

When the signal ended, she simply blinked and returned to normal behavior.

Analysis of the recorded pulses suggests that the Ark Tech network may still be attempting to re-establish communication between surviving fragments scattered across Earth’s surface.

But one detail remains particularly difficult to ignore.

The response signal began only after Glimmerkit activated the Ark Tech fragments during the previous encounter.

Which means the ancient systems of the Arks may not have simply detected a compatible power source.

They may have detected something else.

A signal they recognize.

And now, somewhere within the shattered remnants of a long-lost alien network…

Something is trying to answer back.
