SIGNAL TIMESTAMP: DAY 09 — RELAY NODE ACTIVE

Operator,

A recovered archive fragment has been transmitted through the AKC Signal network.

The following entry is part of the Arkfall Field Archive — a record documenting the events that reshaped the world after the arrival of the Arks.

UNEXPECTED ARK TECH INTERACTION

══════════════════════════════

Ark Tech is notoriously unpredictable.

Fragments recovered from the shattered Arks vary widely in function and stability. Some devices remain completely inert, their systems too damaged to activate. Others respond violently to attempts at interaction, releasing bursts of energy that have destroyed more than a few careless research stations.

Because of this, Ark Tech recovery protocols are strict.

Devices are normally isolated, scanned, and activated only under controlled laboratory conditions.

The event documented here occurred outside of any controlled environment.

It began with curiosity.

During a routine survey of an older Arkfall site, Glimmerkit began investigating a partially buried fragment of Ark Tech protruding from the ground. The device appeared inactive — a cracked metallic panel embedded in a field of Arkfall crystals. Initial scans suggested it had been dormant for years.

Glimmerkit was unconcerned with the scan results.

She climbed onto the panel.

The moment her paws touched the surface, the device activated.

Lines of faint blue light rippled across the metal plating as dormant circuits suddenly came online. The surrounding Ark Tech fragments scattered throughout the crater responded almost immediately, emitting low pulses of energy as though a network had reawakened.

No manual activation had occurred.

No power source had been introduced.

The only change in the environment was Glimmerkit’s presence.

Her Arkfall core brightened slightly, shifting toward a mild Resonance State. The tail flame flickered as excess energy vented into the air. Small sparks drifted around her paws while the device beneath her continued to hum softly.

The interaction lasted less than ten seconds.

When Glimmerkit hopped off the panel, the device powered down once again.

Subsequent attempts to activate the same Ark Tech fragment using standard Ark Hunter tools failed completely. The device returned to its previous dormant state, refusing all attempts at manual activation.

Further analysis suggests the most likely explanation lies in resonant compatibility.

Ark Tech was originally designed to interface with Votan energy systems — power sources far more advanced than anything currently used by human technology. Glimmerkit’s Arkfall core appears to emit an energy signature remarkably similar to the frequencies used within those systems.

In other words:

To Ark Tech, Glimmerkit may appear to be a valid power source.

This raises a number of significant implications.

If Glimmerkit can activate dormant Ark Tech simply by approaching it, her presence could potentially unlock devices that have remained unusable since the Pale Wars. Entire systems buried within Arkfall zones might respond to her resonance signature.

It also raises a more concerning possibility.

If Ark Tech recognizes Glimmerkit as a compatible energy source…

Then the technology of the Arks may recognize her as something more than just a curious cosmic kitten.

For now, however, Glimmerkit seems blissfully unaware of the implications.

After activating the device, she promptly attempted to sit on it again.

As far as she appears to be concerned, the mysterious alien machine was simply a very warm rock.
